Trend Report: 6 hot trends of the season

We are halfway through the year, fashion trends have been refreshed, our closets deserve a fresh look too. In this digital age, where trends come and go in a blink of an eye, it’s challenging to be glued to our iPhones and always have the latest fashion. We’ve rounded up six emerging fashion trends that are cool now and will be in 2020 too. Spotted on the runways, these trends sparked our editor’s interest. From diverse prints to the refreshing hues, delve into fresh styles this season.

Porcelain Print

The fashion world has been obsessed with reviving old styles and turning them into new and modern trends. This time they are embracing the age-old, intricate porcelain art. Designers are creating beautiful ensembles inspired by the intricacies and rich culture of the art, that remind us of our china-doll houses and tea party playdates. With blue and white being the principal colours, outfits with the print can be taken from day to night, dressed up or down. Style tip: Keep accessorising minimalistic with dainty gold jewellery or classic pearls.

Botanical Burst

There is a certain joy in flowers, plants and bright colours. What better than to have them bursting on our clothes. It’s like spring in our wardrobes! It’s impossible to ignore the statement-making yet gorgeously elegant trend. It’s one trend we are sure will never go out of fashion and we are grateful for that. Style Tip: Opt for light fabrics when embracing the trend and for a fun look layer your floral outfit with denim.

Tulle

The trend back in a big way- Tulle! The sheer, lightweight and easy fabric has a sense of mystery while giving us a flirty, feminine and whimsical vibe. It has the ability to elevate your look and make a glam statement in an effortless manner. Style Tip: Pair your tulle skirts and dresses with sneakers for an ultra-cool look.

Stripes

We couldn’t be happier about this timeless trend that transcends through seasons and occasions. Being one of the most versatile trends, there’s no doubt that we can style our stripe outfits in ingenious ways. From sarees to jumpsuits to cute little designer dresses, you can get the stripe trend in any silhouette. It also gives a very retro vibe which certainly makes it our favourite. Style Tip: Stripes is the easiest to embrace the print clash trend. Try layering your stripe outfits with ditsy or floral prints.

Polka Dots

Not that polka dots had ever gone out of style, but it’s big this season! The perennial print has a history that dates back to the 1920s and there was no looking back since. With major pop culture references, the polka dot print is invading wardrobes and remains a classic. In a strange manner, the print speaks of ultra-femininity and elegance. So this trend is definitely not one to miss on. Style Tip: The chic print is really all you need, but opt for bright colours to keep up with the cheerful trend.

Shades of Green

Embraced by countless designers, Industry fashionistas and our favourite stars, tints and tones of green are taking over. Every shade from sage to greenery and emerald looks immensely luxurious and it’s not hard to work with. Style Tip: Wear the colour head to toe, and you are sure to make an impact.
