The Art of Denim: From Functionality to Fashion

Denim has been a patent fashion item for years, from runway to racks to roads, we’ve seen it everywhere, especially on our legs (a.k.a jeans). We owe this wonder of jeans to two men of the 1800s who created the first pair of jeans which were worn by mill workers and soldiers of the war as durable pants for rough work owing to its tough material. Fast forward to the mid-1900s when Hollywood embraced jeans to promote ‘bad boy’ culture. Soon, they became a symbol of counter culture and the hippie phase of the 60s. And finally in the 80s, came the first pair of designer jeans that the world hails now.

Denim just isn’t limited to jeans anymore, fashion has engulfed itself all over denim and now the shows as well as the streets have seen insane denim trends be it over the top denim dresses or extravagant accessories. And we are here to help decipher the Art of Denim for you and how to wear it in extremely chic ways.
