South Asian Stars at MET Gala 2025

The biggest night in fashion, Met Gala 2025, was nothing short of glorious and regal, as celebrities from around the world lit up the carpet with enchanting, striking, and dramatic ensembles interpreting the dress code: ‘Superfine: Tailoring Black Style’. This year, the blue carpet witnessed a powerful lineup of South Asian celebrities – Diljit Dosanjh, who turned heads in a breathtaking outfit crafted by Prabal Gurung, honoured his Punjabi roots with a homage to Maharaja Bhupinder Singh of Patiala, while Kiara Advani made her debut as a glowing mom-to-be, stunning in an elegant Gaurav Gupta creation.

The most anticipated debut was that of Shah Rukh Khan, who stole millions of hearts on the global carpet in a dapper and exquisite creation by Sabyasachi. On the other hand, the ever-stylish Manish Malhotra made a striking statement in a meticulously tailored shirt complemented by a lavishly embroidered cape-style blazer, featuring bold, exaggerated padded shoulders.

The evening was a celebration of diversity and creativity, with both first-timers and seasoned attendees embracing a rich tapestry of heritage textiles, sculptural silhouettes, and artful jewellery that paid homage to the past. Here are our favourite looks from South Asian stars who lit up the blue carpet with their interpretation of the theme.
