Priyanka Singh has a story as cool as her designs

In the past 8 years, Priyanka Singh has built an eponymous label distinguished for her refreshing Indian wear designs. The designer’s innate love for pastels reflects in her understated yet dreamy creations that cater to every Indian modern women’s style and preferences. From classy statements to fusion flavours, her designs transport us to a whimsical world.

Priyanka created her label with a philosophy to design outfits that will last for years and will complement a women’s inner state of mind. “I always had the inner talent to design, but as I evolved a person, I knew I had to start my own label. I always wanted to explore the world and design elegant silhouettes that people can use even after 5 or 10 years.”– Priyanka Singh

Her collections are designed for women who value their time and look to create an effortless wardrobe. “My vision for a’ Priyanka Singh’ girl is someone who is fashion conscious but has an effortless style. She is always looking for outfits she can wear all year round for a variety of functions and in 10 different ways.”-Priyanka Singh

Priyanka showcased her latest collections ‘Faiza’ and ‘Muraad’ at Pernia’s Pop-Up Studio on the 10th of May! Talking about where she gets her inspiration from, she says “I love incorporating Mughal motives in my designs. I am also immensely inspired by poetry. Reading exceptional pieces of poetry brings out something nice and creative in me!”

For her collection Faiza, Priyanka is inspired by a women’s journey who is strong and bold yet soft from inside. Her happiness is translated through flowy silhouettes in silk and georgette fabrics. Ornamented with Gota Patti textures and embroidered highlights in tube work pearls, the fusion kurta sets, ghararas and shararas can be adorned through the seasons.

The Muraad collection encapsulates one’s desire to tap into the inner self. The creations are graceful and pristine, customized in a colour spectrum embracing greys and olive greens to radiant blushes and yellows. The luminous highlights of gota embroidery deck up the silhouettes exquisitely for special occasions like Eid and destination weddings.

As she presented these exquisite and stunning collections, she has also been working on her next collection and gave us a small sneak into what it’s about. “My next collection is called ‘Zevar’. I am striving to bring alive jewellery- through the motifs and colour pallets of the collection. It’s quite exciting and I can’t wait for everyone to see the collection.”

Priyanka Singh has the ability to thoroughly dazzle us with her artistic and charming creations. With designs appealing to today’s woman, she is an inspiration to a lot of new designers. As a piece of advice to upcoming designers, she says “Just be yourself, and let your label represent who you are and what you stand for!”
