Best red carpet moments from the 2019 Cannes Film Festival

The 2019 Cannes Film Festival served us some glamorous spectacle adding more delight to our weekend. The elaborate affair of movie premieres was graced by the who’s who of the industry and our Bollywood divas had their glam streak on fire just like every year. Making her red carpet debut was global icon Priyanka Chopra while Deepika Padukone and Aishwarya amongst others reaffirmed their statuses as glam goddesses.

Deepika Padukone

Deepika Padukone made a grand entry at the gala adorning her statuesque figure with a monochrome gown by Dundas. Stealing attention with a super-sized bow, the gown was accented with a thigh-high slit, statement shoulders and a long train that left us swooning in awe. She completed her look with towering Aquazzura heels, Lorraine Schwartz jewels while her oriental inspired kohl-rimmed eyes and ponytail amped up the exoticism of her appearance. Her next look illuminated the red carpet with a pop of neon. The Giambattista Valli number was a callback to her frothy pink dress of last year. She took it up a notch high with a satiny pink headdress by Emily London, Stuart Weitzman heels, Lorraine Schwartz jewellery.

Priyanka Chopra

Descending upon the French Riviera after lustrous looks at Met Gala, Priyanka Chopra nailed her debut appearance at the red carpet. Flaunting her legs with full-cut slit, she adorned a glittering Roberto Cavalli number paired with Chopard jewels contributing more bling to the glitz and glam of the fiesta. Her second whimsical appearance in a voluminous tulle gown by Georges Hobeika deserves to be archived as a classic moment at Cannes. Finishing her look with dainty Chopard jewels, Priyanka kept the make and hair understated for a flawless finesse.

Aishwarya Rai

Aishwarya Rai sashays the red carpet as she owns it. Epitomizing glamour in its true virtue, the actress turned up at the extravaganza dressed like an under-ocean princess. Her mermaid-inspired gown by Jean-Louis Sabaji featured a metallic textured sheen accentuated with a crafted train. Sleek no-fuss straight hair and impeccably contoured face balanced the blazing glimmer of her ensemble perfectly.

Kangana Ranaut

We simply were smitten by Kangana Ranaut’s vintage look last year and she gave us perfect second treat this year too! Falguni and Shane Peacock customized an exquisitely embellished corset while burgundy gloves added more oomph to the vintage nuances of her golden kanjeevaram saree by Madhurya Creations. She stunned in a Micheal Cinco gown for her next appearance channelling quaint charming vibes.  Accentuated with a dreamy long train, her Persian princess-inspired gown was aptly accentuated with statement studs.

Diana Penty

Diana Penty made a scintillating debut appearance at the Cannes Film Festival this year. Channelling her innate ethereal vibes, the leggy las dressed like a vision in a metallic ivory saree gown by Amit Aggarwal. She accentuated her cocktail look with elegant pearls by Aquamarine Jewellery. Her red carpet introduction was a scene-stealing affair as she walked down donning a feathery voluminous gown by Nedo by Nedret Taciroglu. Her bold red lips and jewels by De Grisogono punctuated the look just perfectly.

Sonam Kapoor

Sonam Kapoor has mastered her red carpet sashay game by now and while we await her red carpet appearances she has already taken the internet by storm with her first look. Indian connoisseurs Abu Jani & Sandeep Khosla customized an ivory and gold corset saree gown. Celebrating the modernity of today’s age Maharani, the ensemble was painstakingly embellished with details and drapes and paired with a handcrafted choker by the designer duo.
