Look Good, Feel Good, Do Good: Sustainable Fashion

Fashion is one of the most popular and profit making industries in the world, however, it also happens to be the second most polluting industry, second only to oil. Consumers are purchasing more clothes for less and don’t bat an eyelash before throwing it away. These clothes land up in dumpsters and aren’t particularly biodegradable since they’re made using polyester for cheaper price rates leading to the dumpsters filling up at an unbelievably fast rate.

To battle this astoundingly alarming issue, the industry has tilted its path towards sustainable fashion and using sustainable fabrics. Sustainable fashion is using organic and biodegradable fibres and fabrics to create garments. These garments are recyclable and reusable and overall, good for the environment. The sustainable economy is based on two elements, the producer and the consumer. The producer creates garments using organic fabrics such as cotton, linen and wool with organic dyes and materials. The consumer goes ahead and purchases these garments and has a duty of disposing it sustainably.
