From Sets to Closets: Exploring Made in Heaven’s Couture

A show that made it to everyone’s binge-watch list when it dropped, Made in Heaven seamlessly weaved together a captivating plot, an astute commentary on pressing social issues and an unmissable display of consistent high-fashion moments.

Although the flamboyant character Jazz, portrayed by Shivani Raghuvanshi, famously declared, “You can’t do fashion in this office”, the much-anticipated second season of Made in Heaven treated viewers to episodes filled with drama, compelling characters, exceptional production and unforgettable looks.

The entire season was packed with trailblazing styles from homegrown labels that truly stood out and resonated with fans and fashion aficionados alike. Let’s take a closer look at everything that the power-packed characters wore in season two that contributed to their commanding screen presence.

Sobhita Dhulipala

Portraying the fan-favourite, enigmatic character of Tara Khanna, Sobhita Dhulipala adorned several statement-making outfits from Indian labels like Raw Mango, Tarun Tahiliani, AMPM and more, curated by stylist Bhawna Sharma throughout the season. Each ensemble worn by the actor played a vital role in narrating the character’s emotions and state of mind at that particular moment. Classic sarees, power-packed suits and sublime office wear make-up Tara Khanna’s wardrobe this season.

In season two’s announcement poster, Dhulipala was seen in a champagne gold gown with a structured hooded drape from Tarun Tahiliani. Another stunning creation from the eponymous label, a delicate blush pink Banarasi tissue saree, was worn by the actor in one of the wedding scenes.

Exuding understated elegance, the actor wore a sublime powder pink Saree from Torani that brilliantly captured the sombre mood of the scene. To punctuate her fashion-filled journey this season, Dulipala wore Amit Aggarwal’s minimalist metallic saree featuring a signature structured drape in the closing shot.

Mrunal Thakur

One of the most talked-about episodes this season saw Mrunal Thakur, playing Adhira Arya, former Miss India turned actor, in Tarun Tahiliani’s opulent designs. The actor twirled in a multi-coloured brocade lehenga with a matching blouse and a gilet jacket from the eponymous label in the Garba scene. Ornated with meenakari, gota, aari and sequins embroidery, the silhouette had the perfect dose of traditional and modern elements. For the mournful wedding, Mrunal Thakur was seen in a regal ivory & red embroidered lehenga set adorned with sequins and kasab embroidery. Paired with a handloom dupatta, and a crystal-embellished veil, the couture masterpiece pays homage to Jain and Punjabi heritage through the colours and textiles.

Naina Sareen

In what was one of the most fun-filled and wholesome episodes of the season, Naina Sareen- portraying bride-to-be Gargi, was seen in a hot pink lehenga from Aisha Rao. Featuring the designer’s signature appliqué work and other embellishments, this ensemble perfectly captured the excitement surrounding the occasion.

Shibani Akhtar & Sheena Khalid

In an episode dedicated to celebrating queer love, Shibani Akhtar and Sheena Khalid wore magnificent creations from renowned couturier Gaurav Gupta. Gilded in gold, the innovative designs from the eponymous label masterfully encapsulated the overarching theme of norm-defying, dramatic and unapologetic commemoration of love.
