Falguni Shane Peacock Takes Couture on Le Grand Voyage at Hyundai India Couture Week 2026

If your idea of travel involves an Orient Express, a wardrobe full of couture and absolutely no concept of travelling light, Le Grand Voyage might be the trip for you! Presented at Hyundai India Couture Week 2026, in association with Nexxus New York, an FDCI Initiative, Falguni Shane Peacock’s latest collection takes inspiration from the romance of the Orient Express, following the label’s imagined ‘Peacock Woman’ and ‘Peacock Man’ as they journey through Rome, Paris, Morocco and Egypt, before making their way back to India.

The journey begins before the clothes even arrive. A vintage train-inspired runway sets the scene, turning the show into its own little world of old-school glamour. The collection picks up references from every stop along the way. Byzantine mosaics of Rome, Belle Époque Paris, Gothic Strasbourg, Bavarian palaces and the Taj Mahal all find their way into the story. But rather than looking like a history lesson in fabric form, these influences are filtered through the designers’ maximalist lens, appearing in intricate embroidery, elaborate embellishment and a colour palette that refuses to be boring.

Cathedral navy, cashmere blue, jewel tones, soft parchment, silver peony, lotus, rose gold and warm metallics give the collection its visual itinerary. Swans glide through the collection as recurring motifs, while Art Deco lines and embellishments channel the decadent glamour of the 1920s. Then come the silhouettes: sculpted corsetry, sweeping capes and dramatic trains, alongside hand-beaded tapestry jackets, embroidered sherwanis, tailored bandhgalas and embellished ties. The menswear gets its own moment, proving that this is one journey where the men aren’t simply accompanying the main character.

For bridalwear, the collection leans into ivory and softer neutral tones, reflecting the growing appetite for wedding dressing beyond the traditional red. Le Grand Voyage moves between couture, occasionwear and fantasy with the confidence of someone who has already booked the suite. And behind all that spectacle is plenty of painstaking work. The designers have highlighted months of embroidery development, textile experimentation and hand craftsmanship, with multiple techniques coming together to build the collection’s richly layered world.

What makes Le Grand Voyage so captivating is its refusal to stay in one place. It journeys through Byzantine mosaics, Belle Époque Paris and Bavarian palaces bringing the journey back home to the Taj Mahal.  A little excessive? Absolutely. But then again, if you’re going to do couture, why take the direct flight?
