Couture for Gen Z

According to McCrindle, Gen Z is the largest generation ever. It comprises almost 2 billion people, which is approximately 30% of the world’s population. For the next two decades, it would be their spending patterns and lifestyle driving production and inspiration of the couturiers.

Gen Z’s take on couture

Couture and Gen Z seemed like an unlikely pairing a few years ago. But, the young generation seduced by couture creations could be courtesy to their admiration of pop culture extravaganzas.

In a nutshell, hundreds of hours of painstaking embroidery, a fitting schedule and long waiting months go into a single piece of creation. Today, the world of haute couture is reaching the age of adding to cart and closet within a few clicks. Today, fashion is changing its course to becoming more mindful. Buyers of all ages are investing in a good shopping experience than spontaneous purchases. What could be more immersive than a bespoke piece of clothing for yourself made by a couturier.

Demographics

Haute couture is known to serve its luxury to women of mature age group for ages. Millennials are being allured to bespoke couture with the connoisseurs shifting their creativity in their direction. A whimsical blend of both craftsmanship and design innovation constitutes couture. This may obviously only appeal to the sartorially enlightened group of women. With social media inculcating a sense of good aesthetic in the younger generation, the collections are being directed to the Gen Z group.

We could also credit the internet-breaking public appearances of Gen Z celebrities driving the youthful present and future of couture. Following suit, Indian designers marry clever elements with couture to reckon with the easy-going sensibilities.

Wedding couture of Gen Z

Wedding couture has become multi-faceted making a case for reliable allies beyond the extravagant festivities of Indian nuptials.
