Belly’s Style Evolution Through The Summer I Turned Pretty

As The Summer I Turned Pretty nears its finale with just two episodes left, the emotional rollercoaster has us all hooked. Beyond the whirlwind of Belly Conklin’s feelings, love triangles, and heartbreaks, one of the show’s most striking arcs has been her evolving style – a journey that mirrors her growth from a shy teen into a young adult finding her voice.

In Season 1, Belly arrived in Cousins fresh from her summer glow-up, her look still simple and uncertain. Denim shorts and basic tees were her staples as she experimented with personal style, often nudged out of her comfort zone by Taylor’s influence. Her fashion felt tentative, like a girl still learning who she wanted to be.

But slowly, the confidence started to peek through. Shopping for her debutante ball with her mother and Susannah was an early turning point, introducing silhouettes that felt more her own.

Soon after came the orange floral birthday dress – feminine, radiant, and undeniably her. And who could forget her first date look? A breezy floral crop top paired with denim shorts, casual but intentional. It hinted that Belly was beginning to understand her aesthetic.

By the end of Season 1, Belly had already stepped into the spotlight with her Aperol Spritz Orange top and biker shorts, and later, her dreamy white debutante gown – her first brush with sophistication. Season 2 carried that momentum forward with floral blouses, feminine tops, and playful sweaters that felt effortlessly cosy yet chic. Her lavender prom dress sealed the shift, a soft but striking look that reflected her growing sense of self.

Season 3 marked the biggest transformation. Belly embraced her girl-next-door charm while leaning into a polished, more self-assured aesthetic. Yet as the storyline steered her into wedding chaos, her style evolved once more.

For the ‘engagement’ reveal, she wore a soft blue dress with white heels and a Coach bag. As much as we hated the idea of the Jellybean wedding, the look showcased a more put-together, grown-up side.

The powder-blue bridal shower dress, a chic red two-piece set, and the unforgettable short white lace bachelorette dress with red heels (yes, the confession dress!) gave us a glimpse of Belly stepping beyond the girl-next-door and coming into her own.

And then came the bridal looks. Despite her modest budget, Belly stunned in a Victoria Beckham wedding gown – proof that simplicity can be spectacular. But the real scene-stealer? Her rehearsal dinner dress  – with its flattering neckline and refined finish – showcases the most confident, grown-up version of Belly we’ve seen.

From denim cutoffs to wedding gowns, Belly’s fashion arc has mirrored the unpredictability of her story. With each episode, she inches closer to defining her style and herself.
