The Sorbet Flavour of Summer

While pastels are perennial for Spring, designers like Varun Bahl, Payal Singhal, Deme by Gabriella gave them a sassy new spin on the SS’19 runway recently. Sorbet hues like candied oranges and limón, pistachio, sweet peach, cherry tomato and mint took centre stage as core colours, and we are drooling at the vision of its sugary rush. Imbibing a springtime nostalgia, these saturated colours have arrived in the summer as the most instagrammable hues and we’re all looking forward to feast on it in the coming season too! These intensified versions of pastels seem like the perfect gamble to win at the glamour game this year. Express your playful side injecting these refreshing colours as a leeway from understated neutrals.

The illuminating yellow hue speaks bounty confidence. The colour breathes freshness into any occasion and makes you stand out from the popular blushes and blues. Joyous and radiant,  the colour can be pulled off effortlessly for a sunlit daytime festivities. Amongst all the shades from the sorbet rainbow, yellow is the one to influence the most number of head-turns with its vibrancy.

Peaches for a tempting flutter

Sunshine hues had a big moment on the runway this season and the peach colour was glorified for its futuristic and seasonless aesthetic. See the number of admirers on your radar notch up as you pull off this juicy hue at the next soirée. Give your closet a boost of charisma with this cheerful tints of peaches. Think floral patterns, tonal embellishments to make it work from the sunnier weather to dusk-time affairs.

Lime Green to pack the punch

Neons have become from retro to relevant again and the lime green colour is to be credited for its big comeback. Energetic and sharp, lime green hits the right chord with its citric presence. Embrace this highlighter shade for some unabashed glamour this season. Imagine limón for daytime revelries as well as evening affairs as an accent colour or even head-to-toe to welcome compliments and envious stares.

Mint blue from the skies

With feel-good-look-good vibe, this colour easily wins the title of the most popular colour on the list. Intensely soothing, mint blue is even fancied by people with bold sartorial choices. Pull off an ultra-feminine look choosing meticulous drapes, floral accents and dainty embellishments in an icy shade of blue. We’re definitely rooting for it as a colour theme for bridesmaids, so invest in a couple of timeless lehengas and sarees.
