FL: What is the core design philosophy that drives your creative vision for each of your collections?

SA: Our design philosophy is rooted in intricate detail and unexpected elements. Unlike traditional embroidery, the pieces we craft seamlessly blend natural and otherworldly aesthetics. Through innovative layering techniques and unconventional materials, we create designs that are both tactile and visually striking. Colour theory is the cornerstone of our process, acting as an instrumental value in our formula that delivers this balance.

FL: How would you define a Mishru bride?

SA: A Mishru bride is a confident individual who embraces individuality and finds joy in the extraordinary. Our patrons are connoisseurs of paradoxes and contrasts. They revel in all that’s mysterious and obvious, of-the-moment yet future-looking. With discerning taste and an eye for emerging trends, Mishru’s bride is effortlessly herself.

FL: Can you share insights into your creative process and how you weave together diverse elements in your designs?

SA: At Mishru, what we create feels culturally authentic and nourished by the synthesis of streams of craft. Through textile and embroidery, we curate a balance for those who seek to combine a traditional wardrobe with their modern sense of self. Hand craftsmanship might use techniques from eras gone by, but we don’t seek to return to those moments; we carry them with us through a contemporary filter.

FL: What are the key bridal trends dominating 2024-25, according to your observations?

SA: The bridal trends for 2024-25 mark a refreshing departure from tradition. Today’s brides are celebrating their individuality with a vibrant colour palette, spanning from soft pastels to bold hues, and gravitating towards outfits that are not only visually stunning but also deeply personal. Wispy, elegant styles are favoured over heavy, ornate designs. The focus is on airy, delicate, yet intricately detailed garments that enable brides to enjoy their special day. This blend of timeless techniques and avant-garde design elements results in bridal wear that is both exquisite and innovative.
