Met Gala 2019: A round-up of our favourite looks

If you thought you’ve seen it all at the Heavenly Bodies Met Gala red carpet last year, you’re in for a huge surprise. The Met Gala extravaganza of 2019 has recorded the most over the top looks in its history. The theme ‘Camp: Notes on Fashion’ was deciphered with dramatic sartorial choices as iconic personalities broke the internet 6th May, Monday night. Here’s a decoded round-up of our favourites!


Lady Gaga enchanted the spectators with some kind of wizardry transforming her Brandon Maxwell outfit in four ways. She arrived wearing a hot pink frothy dress that transformed into a bewitching black gown, and then a form-fitted gown that was finally reduced into black sequin two pieces. Tiffany & Co. jewels added the bling factor to her performance-like appearance.

Speaking of performance, Zendaya played the Cinderella fairytale on the red carpet(quite literally). Dressed in a Tommy Hilfiger blue ball gown, accompanied by her stylist Law Roach as her fairy godmother who stroke a smokey wand as the princess-y gown twinkled.

Fans had been anticipating the red carpet arrival of Kardashian sisters the most and they certainly didn’t disappoint. While Kylie and Kendall complemented each other in feathery Versace numbers, Kim Kardashian rocked a straight-outta-ocean look as crystals dripped from her Thierry Mugler nude dress twinkling on her hourglass frame.

As the theme suggested exaggerated dressing, we certainly didn’t foresee white to come into the scene. But it did and how! Gigi Hadid rocked a head-to-toe white look(even the lashes) with dashes of gold by Michael Kors while Katy Perry arrived in and as lit up chandelier donning a creation by Moschino. Who said white is vanilla?!

Bonafide goddesses of Bollywood, Deepika Padukone and Priyanka Chopra too created quite a stir at the carpet. Match made in Met Gala- Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas dazzled together in signature creations by Dior Haute Couture. Her grey sheer bodice cape-gown was accentuated by a crown and trinkets by Chopard Jewels. The epitome of elegance, Deepika Padukone looked like a real Barbie in a pink lurex gown by Zac Posen.

The queen bee of music charts and red carpets, Cardi B easily swept away the top position at the Met Gala too. Thome Browne customized a wine-red tiered gown with a whopping 10-feet long train accented with feathers that covered the entire pink carpet. Her superlative glam quotient was defined by a headpiece crafted by Browne and Stephen Jones.
