Designer Focus: Half Full Curve

As fashion enthusiasts, we are always on the lookout to find new and exciting brands and designers, who in their own way make a difference to our world through fashion. Often times we forget how the world is influenced by fashion and how fashion influences the world.  If fashion is the centre in everything we do, and how we live; shouldn’t it be playing a part to make the world better. Whether it’s about making fashion eco-friendly and sustainable, or about being inclusive or even giving a new choice of expression, some fashion brands push boundaries and move out of the box.

Today, the brand we are talking about is Half Full Curve. Started by two sisters, Rixi and Tinka Bhatia, the label is on a mission to make fashion inclusive to all sizes. On a mission to create a change and make women of all shapes sizes feel beautiful and body confident, they have created a brand through which women can embrace fashion and style as an extension of their identity and not be afraid to explore your own style. Half Full Curve is a true form of a plus-size label. They go beyond the sizing chart and design fashionable clothes specifically for the Indian body type and curvy frames. What makes them stand out amongst other plus-size brands, is their artistic vision and style. Breaking away from norms, Half Full Curve plays around with colours, prints and embroidery, to create unique patterns and stylish ensembles.

Half Full Curve showcased their latest collection titled ‘Gulab Bagh’ at Lakme Fashion Week Winter/Festive ’19 that was widely appreciated and praised. The collection took inspiration from oriental culture and interiors of royal palaces. Merging urban styles with oriental textures and intricate patterns, the label featured unique fusion and traditional Indian ensembles. The colour scheme includes shades of navy blue, ecru, maroon and pink, that go with the festive and wedding season perfectly. Portraying an old-world charm with a mélange of traditional elements, fluid silhouettes and unconventional designs, they created a world of glitz and glamour.

Giving women of all sizes variety and diversity in styles and silhouettes for has always been a focus for Half Full Curve. With the ‘Gulab Bagh’ collection, they proved that every woman can achieve fashion-forward and head-turning looks for the festive season. With experimental cuts and multifarious styles, Half Full Curve is setting new standards in the fashion world.
