Trend Report: Skirts of the Season

Ask a fashion girl what their most beloved and versatile piece is, not to mention the most trending fashion item in the current day, and they will probably tell you it’s a skirt. You may remember that a few years back, the most popular trend, and the one item you needed to have, was the leopard print skirt. But that’s not the only skirt to own.

Skirts are the easiest way to step up your fashion game and make you look put-together. It’s also the best way to master the often confusing ‘business casual’ look. We’ve curated the most in-trend skirts that every girl must have in their closet that will make sure you’re ahead of the game. From knee-length pencil skirts to fashion’s new favourite handkerchief style skirts, these pieces guarantee fabulous style year-long. Take it from someone who lives exclusively in pants, these skirts have replaced the most loved pieces in my wardrobe, and I am not at all complaining. In fact, I could go on and on about the beauty of skirts, the comfort they provide, and the pleasure of knowing I always look fashionable without putting in much effort, but I am just going to let the skirts do the talking.

Bubble Hem Skirts

Internet’s favourite flirty frock, bubble hem skirts, have been taken over the runways, street style, and red carpets. With the fashion leaning towards all things unapologetically feminine, the youthful yet romantic silhouette comes in a range of shapes and sizes and can be worn in a variety of ways.

The Pleated Skirt

Pleats are back and better than ever! Summer style has never been more effortlessly chic, thanks to these Pleated skirts. Whether you pair it with a breezy blouse or a sleek top to balance the voluminous pleats, this skirt is sure to stun this season and beyond.

Denim Skirts

Denim skirts have never really gone out of style, but they’re more relevant than ever right now. The true capsule wardrobe essentials are beyond easy to style. Elevated cuts, innovative washes, and versatile styling have redefined this classic. You can style midi and maxi lengths with a classic white T-shirt or a formal shirt and a miniskirt with a crop top or a structured blazer.

The Ruffle Skirt

As simplicity and edginess are combined, what is born is the game-changer. From being a trend we were all hesitant about, ruffles have made their way in as a closet staple, continuing to make their way into our closets and our hearts.

The Pencil Skirt

Behold the cult favourite: Pencil skirts. It’s not hard to fall in love with what is the most versatile skirt. Being smart yet sexy, pencil skirts will take you from the office to a party seamlessly. It’s also the best way to ace the business casual look or you can incorporate them into your after-party looks.

The Handkerchief Skirt

This may look complicated, but trust me, it’s the easiest skirt to style. Pair it up with a basic tee, and let the skirt be the star of the show. We also love that these skirts have a romantic feel to them in a modern way.
