Styling Celebratory Sartorialism

As the festive season shines upon us, our favourite social media stars give us the ultimate outfit inspirations that reflect the true essence of modern opulence, a confluence of poise and self-expression.

As the festive season unfolds, social media’s leading style voices offer a masterclass in celebratory fashion rooted in opulence and self-expression.

Urmi Daga

Sarees are an integral part of Urmi Daga’s festive wardrobe. For an intimate celebration, she opts for this pastel organza saree, paired with earrings from Amama Jewellery. “I always prefer to keep things simple. The saree is a standout piece here, so I’ve just used one statement ear chain to bring the whole look together.”

Her Tip: Be mindful of how trends work for you. While they may be viral and all over the internet, some trends may work against you, so try them, see how they fit your body type, your personal style, and incorporate them accordingly.

Saachi Bhasin

For Saachi Bhasin, it’s all about fuss-free style that keeps the celebratory spirit comfortable yet chic. The pastel green sharara set by Gopi Vaid is just that, with delicate mirror embroidery. The structured kurta paired with the wide-leg palazzo adds a contemporary touch to the traditional silhouette. I wanted the outfit to remain the hero, so I kept the accessories classic. A pair of statement jhumkas with gold detailing was just enough to elevate the look without overpowering it. I skipped a necklace to let the neckline shine and added soft curls to complete the ensemble.”

Her Tip: Less is more. Pick one hero element; it could be your outfit, your earrings, or even your makeup and let that be the focal point. Also, comfort is key! A good fit, breathable fabric, and pieces you can dance in will always win.

Niki Madan

A quintessential Indian festive closet is incomplete without prints, as seen on Niki Madan. This coordinated saree and cape from Limerick is one of Niki’s favourite occasion looks as she can wear it to weddings and brunches alike. When asked about her preferred way to accessorise, the internet sensation shared,  “I personally find a bag to be the strongest statement accessory so I paired this ensemble with a Judith Leiber clutch and kept the jewellery minimal with Swarovski earrings to let the prints really stand out.”

Her Tip: Don’t hold back during this season as this is one of those few times in the year when you can go all out – it’s when more is more. Go for fun colours, mix-and-match pieces and wear lots of statement necklaces.

Tarini Manchanda

Everybody who knows Tarini Manchanda knows how much her style is effortlessly effervescent. For this festive season, she opted for this olive multi-hue skirt set from JJ Valaya’s bridge-to-luxury line. “It’s got a unique landscape print and metallic embroidery on the neckline, an ideal choice for intimate occasions. I have paired it with a gold Zariin necklace and cinched the waistline with a signature JJ Valaya belt and their newly launched sunglasses,” shared Tarini.

Her Tip: My only aim is to let loose and have a good time. I can’t really have fun in stiff and heavy outfits, so I enjoy the levity and lightness of printed pieces. I also wear chunky but high heels under the outfits, and usually have a sling bag so that my hands can be free.
