Rohit Bal Preserving India’s Handloom

Practising design as an art form, Rohit Bal- one of India’s most desired designer label, merges traditional patterns and crafts with modern influences. The label showcases heavenly yet relevant designs inspired by history, folklore and fantasy. Recognised for his spectacular craftsmanship and meticulous attention to detail, Rohit Bal has greatly contributed to the handloom narrative of India and is one of India’s most distinguished and respectable designers.

Rightly known as the ‘Master of fabric and Fantasy’, Rohit Bal has created a new pathway for handloom fabrics. The designer thinks of handloom as a labour of love and is committed to preserving Indian textiles that connect us to our history, through his grandiose silhouettes. His collections are designed using fabrics like  Banarasi Brocade, Chanderi, Khadi and mulmul extensively, yet creating absolutely glorious and magnificent ensembles.

In an attempt to make these fabrics globally appealing, Rohit Bal has been working closely with craftsmen around India. Introducing an urban aesthetic to handloom, he has successfully made Indian weaves fashionable and desired by the discerning audience. Today weaves like Chanderi, Khadi, and mulmul are considered luxury and aspirational. The world looks to India for handwoven textiles. And most of the credit goes to this ace couturier. Rohit Bal has redefined fashion and is keeping the handloom sector alive.

Rohit Bal in the true sense is celebrating tradition in style!
