Some journeys begin quietly, almost imperceptibly, until they bloom into something extraordinary. For Jayanti Reddy, fashion wasn’t born of formal schooling or meticulous planning, it was seeded in childhood, nurtured by a mother whose creativity remained a constant inspiration. “I began creating pieces as a hobby. The appreciation and encouragement I received early on gave me the confidence to pursue it – and from there on, there was no looking back,” she reflects.

From those early beginnings, her vision quickly crystallised. The magnificence of Hyderabad’s Nizami courts became the backdrop of her design language, but with her own distinct balance of opulence and restraint. “It’s where old-world opulence meets contemporary restraint – embroidery carrying the grandeur, while silhouettes remain minimal. That dialogue became my signature.”

“Zardozi – always. It is the heartbeat of the brand. While I experiment with detailed, modern techniques, traditional zardozi remains the foundation, interpreted in ways that feel both intricate and contemporary.”

Her journey since has been marked by evolution, not reinvention. She began with contemporary silhouettes in sustainable textiles, later deepening her design vocabulary. “Over the years, my work has grown into more detail-oriented embroideries and bridal trousseau that remain our bestsellers. I’ve also expanded my colour story – from signature aubergines, reds, and maroons to include softer pastels like beige, sage, and blush.”

At the heart of it all is embroidery. If one were to walk through her archive, the essence would be clear. Zardozi. While she experiments with modern techniques to keep the label relevant, it is traditional zardozi, reinterpreted with fresh nuance, that anchors her vision.

Her ability to keep signatures alive without succumbing to trend cycles has become her hallmark. Season after season, peplum blouses, corseted saris, layered lehengas and capes return with renewed freshness. “I’ve always believed in creating classics rather than chasing trends… One detail that has quietly evolved is our Benarasi ensembles, revived with contemporary silhouettes, making them relevant yet timeless.” That same instinct guided Summer Qutub 2025, leaning into kaftans, long kali kurtas, and peplum-sharara sets. It introduced an airier sartorial vocabulary without sacrificing richness. “Handwoven silks and organzas brought in fluidity and ease, while still carrying a festive richness that felt grand yet light.”

“The goal is always the same – to deepen our relationship with craft, while creating pieces that feel relevant to today’s world.”

Her vision also extends to menswear, an area she has steadily cultivated. “For me, the Jayanti Reddy groom is rooted in heritage yet confident in his individuality. Our menswear celebrates classics – bundis, bandhgalas, sherwanis, and kurtas – reimagined with contemporary cuts, lighter fabrics, and understated detail.”

Looking forward, her aspirations are rooted in the same ethos that has shaped her journey. “I see the label expanding into new categories, strengthening our menswear, and making luxury festive prêt more accessible globally.”

In her world, fashion is a dialogue between past and present, tradition and innovation, restraint and opulence. And in this balance between craft, culture, and couture, her label continues to find its enduring voice.
