Masaba Masaba : Moments & Looks We Loved!

This isn’t the first time that ace designer Masaba Gupta has taken the internet by storm, but it is the first time when she’s doing it with her acting skills. And what can we say about Neenaji? There isn’t a single moment when her performance isn’t legendary. If you haven’t seen the mother-daughter duo conquering the big screen in Netflix’s new show Masaba Masaba yet, well – what are you waiting for?

As for us, the show kept us thoroughly hooked! Masaba’s imperfectly perfect life with some spice on the side is what we came for, and the series delivered. The show with its relatable yet eccentric theme will take you on an exhilarating ride. Although it’s difficult to pick just a few moments and looks that made us go ‘wow!’, we’ve still rounded up a handful of them that’ll convince you to go on a binge right away.

Kiara Advani’s cameo, and her bold & beautiful style!

With a short but unforgettable appearance on the show, Kiara had us cracking up with her cameo. Portrayed as a typical Bollywood diva, the actress’ role as a self-obsessed version of herself is nothing less than amusing. Besides, how can we not be in love with Kiara’s look, when she is sporting this red hot off-shoulder top and a slit skirt to go with it?

Masaba-Neena moments, not just as co-actors but as mother-daughter!

It’s always heartwarming to witness a mother & daughter not just bonding over a cup of chai during breakfast but also making up after an argument in their own special way. From the designer coming home to her mother after officially announcing separation, to Neenaji asking her just one question – if she’d like to have a paratha; all of it won us over! The two were even seen bickering and eventually sorting it out after drawn out silences, and we couldn’t help but yell ‘relatable!

The fashion show that was quite literally a Hot Mess!

Even when things spell ‘disaster’, Masaba’s style and attitude spell ‘fabulous’. We got a glimpse of it in the 5th episode of the show, when events didn’t go according to plan for the designer, and we could see her at her lowest. Sporting an all-white look with a coat layered over a dress, Masaba meant business and only rested when she fixed all that went wrong. Inspiring – both in terms of life and fashion – that’s how we’d like to define & describe this hot mess.

Masaba blending in but still standing out at the art exhibit.

This one’s a definite spoof, with Shibani Dandekar posing as an ‘artist’ and putting her ‘art collections’ up for sale, which is portrayed to be incredibly pretentious and cringe-y. Yet, Masaba manages to maintain a poker face, even while purchasing a clothing iron worth over a lakh. Another best part about this scene was the dramatically elegant look that the designer sported. We only took one look at this embroidered bustier & sheer ivory top, and it made it to our list of dream #OOTDs.

Neenaji’s dance number “Aunty kisko bola be?”

Neena Gupta is one of the coolest moms on the block! First, in a bold move, she took to Instagram to find work, and then stunned us all with her funky dance number on the Netflix original. She is seen in a face-off with Mithila Palkar who plays the role of a spoilt teenager. When it comes to Neena Gupta, age isn’t just a number. Because even at 61, she refuses to grow old! Everything from her style to her persona is absolutely noteworthy.

We could go on and on, but it still wouldn’t be enough. When it comes to Masaba Masaba, every episode is better than the last, and we can’t wait for Season 2 to drop! Maybe we’ll get to see more cameos that make us laugh, and finally get the answer to the cliffhanger we’ve been left with? Who knows!
