Lili Reinhart’s The Love Hypothesis Press Tour Looks Are a Love Letter to ’90s Rom-Coms

Lili Reinhart clearly got the memo: if you’re going to promote a rom-com, you might as well dress like you’re starring in one. While on the press tour for The Love Hypothesis, the actor has been serving one nostalgic look after another, borrowing from ’90s rom-com heroines, iconic movie wardrobes and the fashion archives. The best part? Nothing feels like a costume. Each look comes with a playful reference, a modern twist and just enough nostalgia to make you want to revisit your own moodboard.

It all started with a Pinterest board aptly titled ‘Rom-Com Baddie’. Created with stylist Ib Abdel Nasser, the board became the blueprint for Lili Reinhart’s press-tour wardrobe, sending the duo down a rabbit hole of ’90s and early-2000s fashion references. Think the yellow How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days dress, the pastel world of Jawbreaker and a little Betty Cooper thrown into the mix.

Then came the deep cuts. Reinhart channelled Ever After in a Rodarte gown, brought Atonement’s unforgettable green dress back with a Tory Burch rendition, and borrowed the exact Nanette Lepore coat worn in 13 Going on 30. Her Uptown Girls references came in multiples, including a custom Rebecca Taylor dress inspired by Brittany Murphy’s finale look and a vintage Blumarine piece from the same collection as Murphy’s printed tank. There was also the pink velvet My Date With the President’s Daughter dress, a modern take on Sandra Bullock’s Miss Congeniality makeover dress by Hervé Léger, and a Valentino butterfly look pulled from the 2005 archives. Here are the looks that took Lili’s vintage rom-com references to press-tour perfection.
