Throwback to the event that garnered global attention for its extravagant arrangements and display of opulence, the pre-wedding celebrations of Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant emerged as a spectacular showcase of culture and luxury. As the youngest scion of one of the world’s wealthiest billionaires, Mukesh Ambani, Anant’s union with Radhika Merchant made headlines in every household. The lavish 3-day event at Jamnagar, Gujarat, was held at the beginning of March and continued to a 4-day cruise through the Mediterranean Peninsula towards the end of May. Jamnagar Extravagance
An illustrated guest list of 1500 people boasted personalities like Bill Gates, Ivanka Trump, and Mark Zuckerberg, alongside noted celebrities like Deepika Padukone, Shahrukh Khan, Ranveer Singh, Ranbir Kapoor, and Alia Bhatt, to name a few. As the night proceeded, the sensational pop singer Rihanna took the stage and ensured this magical night had a perfect ending. On day two, the couple hosted an extravagant lunch at the Vantara Rescue and Rehabilitation Centre, a passionate project initiated by Anant Ambani for animal welfare. Moving on to the same evening, everyone geared up for the Mela Rouge, a fair-themed party infused with Moulin Rouge aesthetics with the global icon Diljit Dosanjh’s marvellous performance. The event concluded with a traditional Hastakshar ceremony that was witnessed by the crowd and showered with blessings to the new couple.
The Italian Rendezvous
While the Jamnagar celebration was more in the public domain, the Italian cruise gala was more of a private affair. The couple threw a grand party for their friends, employees, family, and people who couldn’t attend their extravagant celebrations in March.
The journey began at Palermo, Sicily, with a welcome lunch and proceeded with a starry-night-themed party for the guests. The next day, the ship sailed to Rome, where the Ambanis hosted a Toga party for the couple, with DJ David Guetta elevating the party. On the third day, the cruise halted at Cannes for a lavish masquerade ball at Château de la Croix des Gardes with an exceptional performance from Katy Perry, but it was not over yet.
When they boarded the vessel again, Pitbull’s terrific performance kept the celebratory spirits high. There is still more. Have you ever heard of taking over the city? That’s what happened in Portofino, which was transformed into a food market, highlighting the Italian summers. With the sun setting, the night was taken over by the Italian singer Andrea Bocelli, who was later joined by his son, Matteo Bocelli, and this way, the Italian grand escapade came to a sweet end.
