Light-Up For Diwali

The true spirit of Diwali isn’t just in the coming together of loved ones, or the fireworks, or even the endless sweets! It’s in the way that every house, every window and every street is beautifully lit up around its arrival.

It is, after all, the festival of lights.

Brightening up every corner of our homes and investing in awe-worthy festive decor has been on our agenda this month. If it’s on yours too, take notes.

Turn to tradition.

Festivities entail long-standing cultural practices. From Poojas to various other rituals, everything needs initial prep! Might we suggest you make the important bits aesthetically pleasing? Incense, just like diyas, is one of the most integral parts of a Pooja in most households. We’re thinking intricately-crafted incense holders that add a luxurious touch to the thaali or the treasured place of worship in your home. Allow them to enhance that tiny glimmer of light, and also provide a secure spot for your incense sticks to burn through the night.

What’s Diwali without lanterns?

The cultural and historical significance of lanterns is etched in all our minds, thanks to endless hours of Ramayana on the television, or our grandmothers’ fondly-told stories. The rows of lamps that lit up Lord Ram’s path on his return sent out an important message that is just as relevant in today’s day and age. Light after darkness. Dispel the turmoil of the past year as well as this one with the brightest, most beautiful lanterns you can find. Let them radiate positivity and brighten up your space.

Highlight what’s important!

Having people over is one of our favourite ways to celebrate Diwali! The laughter ringing through the living room raises our spirits instantly. But one of the very first things your guests will do is tour your house, before finally settling into a comfy spot. You can make the experience all the more appealing by using pendant lights that are suspended from the ceiling and make for stunning decor accents. From a wall filled with frames that you’d like to brighten up, or a corner of your house that the light doesn’t reach, they go everywhere.

Create a sense of warmth.

We associate cosiness with a burning fireplace, but it doesn’t have to be that elaborate. Candles play just as big a role in creating that sense of warmth that makes your home feel more welcoming. And what better time than Diwali to let them do what they do best? If you can place them in a luxe candle stand, even better! Besides, they’re absolutely Instagram-worthy and will give you the perfect shot for your feed!

While your homes and hallways are bathed in light, we hope your lives remain just as bright. Have a safe Diwali!

Disha Parwarkar

May 26, 2026

“There’s no such thing as an ordinary blue sweater.” Years later, it still feels like Miranda Priestly understood fashion’s obsession with blue long before the rest of us did. I remember watching The Devil Wears Prada for the first time and barely noticing Andy’s sweater. To me, it was just blue. Nothing revolutionary or memorable. Read More
